The unemployment numbers are indeed skewed a little bit, and it’s not for the worse; it’s skewed down. There are a ton of people that are making money on the web, and best of all, they’re doing so from the comforts of their own home (or wherever it is they choose to work from). A lot of these folks are making better incomes than they ever did reporting to a job on site, and they’re able to make money blogging, because of the fact that the web is so widely adopted now. We’re seeing over a 60% adoption in the States and this is common across most of the developed world, but a lot of the action is being seen in developing economies, which account for most of the activity about social media, social networking, and accounts for the greater slice of the almost 2 billion folks that are now online, every day.
