Women are crazy about fashion. They have a thirst for clothing and accessories that are considered trendy. In order to quench their thirst of fashion, manufacturers are trying their best to produce varieties. And yet, isn’t it so wasteful to keep buying new things all the time? And if we can’t help doing this, isn’t it better to help someone out in doing so, for example by buying Fairtrade clothing? I think our shopping decisions can help others, and we should be very discerning as to who we buy from, what brands we buy etc.
Fairtrade ensures that the manufacturers of such products benefit directly from your purchase. This gives the shopper a feeling they’ve made a difference to individuals who live in 2nd and 3rd world countries. While we’ll all own up to feeling guilty for “over-shopping”, Fairtrade at least can balance that guilt with this feeling of making a difference.
